![]() Actually, complaining is exactly what got EA to come back to Steam. If you don't like the way Ubisoft do things then simply buy a Ubisoft code, or buy it thru Ubisoft store. Some Ubisoft titles are cheaper if you buy thru Steam due to regional prices, that's why people prefer to buy it from Steam, and they don't mind launching Steam, like me. ![]() If I lost my Uplay account, it doesn't matter that I own the game on Steam - it will not launch because what matters here is my Uplay account and not Steam. ![]() The same verification process implemented in Uplay and it doesn't 'have to be so Steam dependent when Uplay is already Steam-like thing where you can buy-activate-download-play games. Even if you have a Steam code for other game, they never make you install from the disc if there's a code in it. But for some reason Ubisoft have policy that if you get the code from the game purchased on steam then you can't download the game from Uplay directly. I've just entered the code in Uplay and now I can download and launch the game directly from Uplay. I didn't even have to insert the disc in PC. But wait! UPLAY DIDN'T ASK ME TO INSTALL THE GAME FROM THE DISC. The diffirence between them is where I've got activation code - from purchase on Steam or in DVD-case.
